A recent Fine Art graduate from the University of Arts London, Gemma will be showing from her most recent body of work, ‘A Troubled Romance’, which explores the romanticism of conflict and war. Taking inspiration from poets Shelly and Yeats, in particular their use of landscape and nature imagery as a metaphor for cultural identity and nationalism, she manipulates these themes to create environments where an apparent beauty becomes interrupted by the harsh realities of war in an attempt to examine alternate perspectives of conflict.
