Female identity and sexuality are the themes that dominate Lora’s work and inevitably her practice has always been one of self-exploration. Ploughing through essays about the sexualisation of girls, the construction of femininity and the effect of mass media and advertising she has in essence been picking apart the factors that form the modern western woman. Inspired by fairy tales, psychoanalysis, feminist theory and contemporary culture she digs into the stereotype of the narcissistic female, the innocent child, the fallen woman and the fakery of femininity.
